How to Merge Posts

Merging posts is a useful feature that allows you to consolidate similar or duplicate content into a single post. This helps to keep your content organized and ensures that all related information is easily accessible in one place. Follow the steps below to successfully merge posts.

Steps to Merge a Post

1. Navigate to the Post You Want to Merge:

   • Begin by locating the post you wish to merge into another. This will be the original post that gets combined with another post.

2. Click on the Actions Button and Click Merge post:

   • Once you are on the post page, look for the button labeled "Actions" and choose Merge Post. Click this button to initiate the merging process.

3. Access the Merging Screen:

   • After clicking the merge button, you will be directed to a new screen. Here, you will see the original post displayed at the top. This is the post that will be merged into another.

4. Search for the Target Post:

   • Use the search functionality on this screen to find the post you want to merge with. This is the post that will receive the content, votes, voters, and followers from the original post.

5. Complete the Merge:

   • Once you have selected the target post, confirm the merge. Please note that this action is irreversible.

Important Considerations

• Irreversible Action:

  • Merging posts is a permanent action. Once you submit the merge, it cannot be undone. Make sure you have selected the correct posts before proceeding.

• Automatic Merging of Votes and Followers:

  • All votes, voters, and followers from the original post will be automatically transferred to the target post. This ensures that everyone who interacted with the original post remains informed and engaged.

• Redirection:

  • The original post will be redirected to the newly merged post. This means that any attempts to access the original post will automatically take users to the merged post.
