I am imagining functionality for this similar to what is offered by Beamer - possibly with the option to configure what types of posts trigger the alert as well (e.g. by tab or category or status). My goal specifically is for there to be an alert indicating new "update" posts for new releases.
Yes, we could highlight the 'What's New' link/button when there's something new, and let the user mark everything as read to see only new items since their last visit.
I would like similar. An unread count for the changelog so people know to open it.
