I'd like to get a bell icon with the number of notification unread by the user. Something similar to the notification bell on linkedin.

I am imagining functionality for this similar to what is offered by Beamer - possibly with the option to configure what types of posts trigger the alert as well (e.g. by tab or category or status). My goal specifically is for there to be an alert indicating new "update" posts for new releases.
