Refreshing the page after changing your display name puts the old name back

When a member signs in through SSO and then changes their display name, refreshing the same tab undoes the change.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Sign in to the portal through SSO.
  2. Open your profile, change "Name on this portal", and save. The page confirms the change.
  3. Refresh the same browser tab. The old name is back.
  4. Do steps 1–2 again, but open the portal in a new tab instead of refreshing. The new name is kept.

What we think is happening: refreshing re-applies the SSO sign-in the tab arrived with, and that sign-in still carries the old name.

Expected: a saved name change sticks after a refresh.
