Ai Credits

AI credits

How to get there: Go to Settings → Account to see your current credit balance and monthly allotment.

AI credits are the budget for all AI feature usage in your portal. Each plan includes a monthly allotment that resets on your billing date.

What uses credits

  • Each AI auto-reply sent (one per new post when enabled).
  • Each AI auto-tag run (one per new post when enabled).
  • Each Nova message in the assistant sidebar.
  • Each AI moderation check on a comment.
  • Each AI changelog summary generated.
  • Each AI KB answer delivered to a customer.
  • Each AI prioritization batch run.

Different operations consume different amounts. A short Nova question is cheap; summarizing 50 posts into one changelog entry is expensive.

Where to see your balance

Settings → Account shows credits used vs allotted this month. Nova's header also shows credits consumed in the current session.

When credits run low

Most AI features will:

  • Continue running until credits hit zero.
  • Stop silently (or fall back to non-AI behavior) once at zero.
  • Resume when the monthly reset lands.

You can also buy extra credits, see the Buy more credits link on Settings → Account.

Why credits and not "unlimited AI"?

AI calls have real per-token cost. A credit model:

  • Keeps plans honest, costs scale with usage instead of forcing tier-jumps.
  • Lets you predict spend.
  • Stops a runaway integration from blowing up your bill silently.

Setting credits to 0 (full AI disable)

If you want to disable all AI usage portal-wide without toggling each feature, email support@productlift.dev and ask us to set your monthly allotment to 0. See Turning off AI.
