Turning Off Ai

Turning off AI features

How to get there: Go to Settings → AI to control individual AI features. For a full disable, see below.

ProductLift AI features (auto-reply, auto-tag, KB answers, moderation, prioritization, changelog summarization) are useful but optional.

Disable individual AI features

  1. Go to Settings → AI.
  2. Toggle off the specific feature you don't want.

Each feature has its own toggle, so you can keep AI moderation on while disabling auto-reply, etc. See AI configuration.

Disable all AI usage by zeroing your credits

Every AI call costs AI credits (allotment included with your plan). To stop all AI usage portal-wide without toggling each feature:

  1. Email support@productlift.dev and ask us to set your monthly AI credit allotment to 0.
  2. With 0 credits, AI features either skip silently or fall back to a non-AI behavior (depending on the feature).

This is the cleanest "no AI under any circumstance" path. Some teams need it for compliance or data-residency reasons.

What gets sent to AI providers when AI is on?

When an AI feature runs, the relevant text (a post title/body, a comment thread, KB content, etc.) is sent to the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic). No personal data beyond what's in the text is added.

When AI is off (or you have 0 credits), no text is sent.

Re-enabling later

Same path: email support to restore the credit allotment, then toggle features back on.
