Attachment And Image Limits

Attachment and image limits

ProductLift accepts file attachments and images on posts and comments. Practical guidance below.

What's allowed

  • Images: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP.
  • Documents: PDF.
  • Other attachments: common file types relevant to product feedback (logs, CSVs, mockups).

If you need to support a specific file type and it isn't accepted, email support@productlift.dev.

Size limits

Each file is capped at 20 MB. If you hit it, the upload fails with a clear error. For oversized files:

  • Compress images (TinyPNG or similar).
  • For long videos or large PDFs, link to an external host (Loom, Drive, Dropbox).

Where attachments are stored

Attachments are stored on S3 and served directly. Images that show in the post body (e.g. screenshots in the description) are served via a CDN for speed.

Removing attachments

Open the post or comment, edit, and remove the attachment. Removed files are deleted from storage.

Can end users attach files?

Yes, when they submit a post or comment. This is controlled by your post submission settings.
