Deleting your portal
How to get there: Go to Settings → General (scroll to the bottom) for the Delete Portal option.
Permanent portal deletion removes all data and cannot be undone. Use this only when you're sure.
Before you delete
Make sure you've handled:
- Cancel your subscription first. See Cancelling your subscription. Deleting the portal doesn't automatically cancel your Stripe subscription.
- Export anything you want to keep. Posts can be exported via Settings → Import/Export. Users via the same area. Once the portal is gone, the data is gone.
- Take down any embedded widgets. Customers hitting your site after deletion will see broken widgets.
- Remove your custom domain DNS. If you pointed a subdomain at ProductLift, repoint or remove it.
Steps
- Go to Settings → General.
- Scroll to the Delete Portal section at the bottom.
- Click Delete Portal.
- Confirm in the modal.
What gets deleted
- All posts, votes, comments
- All users (admin and end-user)
- All boards, tabs, statuses, categories, tags, custom fields
- All changelog entries
- All knowledge base content
- All settings, branding, integrations
- All file attachments and post images
What doesn't get deleted automatically
- Your Stripe subscription. Cancel separately under Settings → Account before deleting the portal, or email support@productlift.dev and we'll cancel any open subscription tied to the deleted portal.
I deleted by accident
Email support@productlift.dev as soon as possible with your portal name. Deletion is technically a soft delete on our side for a short window, but assume the data is gone, fast contact is the only path back.
