Cancelling your subscription
How to get there: Go to Settings → Account → scroll to Cancellation.
You can cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal. No emails needed, no retention call.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Scroll to the Cancellation section.
- Click Cancel.
- Confirm in the Stripe customer portal.
What happens after I cancel?
- Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period (so if you paid for the month/year, you keep access until that ends).
- After the period ends, the portal moves to a restricted state similar to a post-trial portal, data preserved, but admin actions and public voting are gated.
- Your data, posts, votes, comments, and users are not deleted when you cancel.
Want to delete the portal entirely?
Cancelling is different from deletion. To wipe data, see Deleting your portal.
Changed your mind?
If you re-subscribe before the period ends, nothing changes, you simply continue. If you re-subscribe after the period ends, your existing data is still there and the portal reactivates.
Need to downgrade instead of cancel?
If the issue is price or unused features, email support@productlift.dev before cancelling. We handle plan adjustments manually and may have a tier that fits better.
