Hide vote count from customers
How to get there: Go to Settings → Boards → pick the board → open the tab → Post Appearance section → toggle Show vote count.
You can hide the vote count on a per-tab basis. Customers still vote; they just don't see how many votes a post has.
When to hide vote count
- Reduce bandwagon effect. When customers see a post has 200 votes, they're more likely to vote for it too. Hiding the count gives a cleaner read on actual demand.
- Avoid awkward "low vote count" optics on a brand-new board or an unloved post.
- Internal portals where vote counts could be politically charged.
- Closed beta boards where you don't want a tiny vote pool to look like low demand.
What's hidden
- The vote count badge on each post in the list.
- The vote count on the post detail page.
What's still visible:
- The vote button itself (customers can still vote).
- Admins always see the count in admin views, this setting only affects what customers see.
How
- Go to Settings → Boards.
- Pick the board.
- Open the tab you want to configure.
- Scroll to Post Appearance.
- Toggle Show vote count off.
- Save.
The change is immediate for end users.
Combine with other display settings
The same Post Appearance section controls:
- Show status indicator, whether the post status is visible.
- Show short description, whether a snippet appears on the list page.
Mix and match for the visual feedback experience you want.
