Assigning user to a post

How to get there: Click All Posts in the sidebar → open a post → use the Assignee field in the post details panel.

In ProductLift, you can assign specific users to posts, allowing them to have a personalized overview of all the posts they are responsible for. This feature is especially useful for SaaS product managers, project managers, and marketing strategists who need to manage and communicate updates efficiently. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to assign users to posts.

How to Assign a User to a Post

  1. Navigate to the Specific Post:

  • Start by locating the post you want to assign a user to. This can be done through your dashboard or by searching for the post directly.
  1. Access the Meta Area:

  • Once you are on the post page, look to the right-hand side of the screen. This is where you will find the meta area.
  1. Assign a User:

  • In the meta area, you will see a label called Assigned. If no one is currently assigned, it will say Unassigned.

  • Click on Unassigned. A text box will appear, allowing you to start typing the name of the user you wish to assign.

  • As you type, a list of users will appear. Select the appropriate user from the list.

  1. Confirmation:

  • Once selected, the user’s name will appear next to the Assigned label, confirming that the post has been assigned to them.

Viewing Assigned Posts

If you are a user who has been assigned to one or more posts, you can easily view them by following these steps:

  1. Go to Your Profile:

  • Click on your profile icon located at the top of the ProductLift interface.
  1. Access "My Posts":

  • In your profile menu, you will find an option labeled My Posts. Click on this to view a list of all posts that have been specifically assigned to you.
  1. Manage Your Posts:

  • From here, you can work on the posts, deliver updates, and manage your assignments effectively.

Removing Assigned Status

Once you have completed your work on a post, you may wish to remove the assigned status. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Assigned Post:

  • Go to the post that you have completed working on.
  1. Access the Meta Area:

  • Again, look to the right-hand side of the screen for the meta area.
  1. Remove Assignment:

  • Click on the user’s name next to the Assigned label. This will provide an option to unassign the post.
  1. Confirm Unassignment:

  • Once unassigned, the post will revert to Unassigned, indicating that no user is currently responsible for it.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage your assignments and ensure that all posts are updated and communicated effectively. This feature is designed to streamline your workflow and enhance productivity, aligning with ProductLift’s vision to empower product managers and strategists.
