Pinning Comments

Pinning comments

How to get there: Open the post → find the comment → click the pin icon next to it.

Pinning a comment moves it to the top of the comment thread regardless of date. Use it when one comment is the canonical answer.

When to pin

  • Status update from the team ("We're working on this; expected Q3"). Customers asking for the status see the answer instantly without scrolling.
  • The most useful clarification from another customer that the team has endorsed.
  • The accepted workaround while a feature is being built.
  • A duplicate-merge note pointing to the new combined post.

How

  1. Open the post.
  2. Hover the comment you want at the top.
  3. Click the pin icon (only visible to admins).
  4. The comment moves to the top of the thread and gets a pinned badge.

Unpinning

Same icon, click again. The comment returns to its normal chronological position.

How many comments can I pin?

Multiple comments can be pinned on one post. They appear in pin order at the top, then everything else chronologically below.

End users see pinned comments

Yes. The pinned badge is visible to everyone so customers know it's the canonical comment, not just a sorted-up reply.
